1.Billing#

  • Plans are month to month, with no contract, charged by card or Australian direct debit (BECS) through Stripe.
  • Billing months start on the 1st. Your first month is pro-rated, with the full allowance.
  • Upgrades apply immediately, pro rata. Downgrades, and switches between Seasonal and Level, apply from the next month.
  • Prices are in Australian dollars. No GST is charged: PrepDesk isn’t registered for GST yet.

2.Cancelling#

  • An admin cancels in the app, under Settings › Close account. You don’t need to call or email anyone.
  • After you cancel, access continues to the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • Then you have 30 days to export everything. After that, your firm’s data is permanently deleted, backup copies expire within 35 days, and your admins get an email confirming it.
  • On Level, your bank of unused workpapers is kept for 30 days after your access ends, then it expires.
  • Plan changes and cancelling happen only in the app. The Stripe billing portal is only for updating payment and billing details and viewing invoices. If a subscription is ever cancelled in Stripe instead, the same closure starts as cancelling in the app.

3.Refunds#

  • Because access continues to the end of the period you’ve paid for, a month that has started isn’t refunded when you cancel.
  • A workpaper that isn’t usable can be marked “Not usable” by an admin or the client group’s reviewer, within 7 days of the charge, with a reason. Its credit comes back into the month it’s granted, up to 5% of that month’s use.
  • If you’re charged in error, for example twice, write to us and we’ll refund the charge.
  • If a second subscription is started by mistake, we cancel it straight away and a person at PrepDesk arranges the refund.
  • Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including to a refund for a major failure.

4.If a payment fails#

Stripe retries the payment and we email your admins. If your first payment fails, preparing new workpapers pauses straight away until it’s paid. Otherwise, preparing pauses after 14 days, and after 30 days your firm moves to Hold.

Uploads keep working throughout, unpaid invoices stay open, and paying them lifts the pause or Hold. Your data is never deleted, and your account is never closed, because of a failed payment.
